You may or may not have noticed that over the last few months I have been holding a photography competition on my Facebook page and Twitter account.
The results are out and the prizes have been awarded, or nearly have.
Congratulations to Melissa Mills, Sports Massage Therapist, who was presented with her prize this week in Colchester. Melissa’s picture of her dog, Rocky, won first place in WRITE WAI PR & COPYWRITING SERVICES’ Spring Shot Photography Competition. The winner of the children’s category was Bridey Mulhall, 8, who has still to be presented with her prize of Snowdrops covered in dew.
The standard of entries in both the adult and children’s categories was high, making it a difficult job for the judges, photographer Rebekah Brown and Sally Anderson-Wai, owner of WRITE WAI. Well done to Melissa and Bridey.
I love taking pictures and it was a spur of the moment decision that prompted me to start the competition on Facebook just for the fun of it in early March. Friends and networking associates started posting pictures of springs and spring water within half an hour of my announcing the Spring Shots Photography Competition.
Entries trickled in from Colchester at first, then streamed in from around Essex and other parts of regional, before pouring in from around the world. The youngest was from Reuben, aged four, of Colchester, of Crich in Derbshire. We had a wasp picture submitted from China by Jenny Beddow and a Thai Banana boat image from Sue of Bangkok. There was even a video entry from Graham Potter of North Essex and several professionals tried to submit pictures, so despite not having a strategy, the competition has proved to be good for marketing WRITE WAI PR & COPYWRITING SERVICES.
The good news is that I will be holding another competition in the future and hope you will join in. Just picture it on this space!
