Star Awards were presented to 100 extraordinary, self-sacrificing ladies who are making a difference for others and Sally Anderson-Wai, owner of Write Wai PR & Copywriting Services, was one of them.
“We’re amazed and humbled to have been given another award at Lift Effects’ international women’s conference,” said Sally, who was nominated for giving her time and energy to others and for helping various charities raise £13,000+ in the last year. Sally also won a Star Award last year for helping to raise £12,000 towards the cost of sinking a borehole in a Kenyan village where previously inhabitants had to walk 8 miles daily to get water in the dry season. That’s £25,000 in total that she has helped raise recently.
Several other awards winners from Essex this year were (pictured above from the right): Lyndee Oscar, of Kids Backs 4 The Future (with her daughter Lauren on the far left), for giving their time and energy to promote good back care in children); 2012 Olympic torch bearer, Sue Nutt, who helps lots of people and bakes cakes for lots of organisations; Samie Franklin, who helps run Sunday at One and Open Door, Colchester, Essex: (Write Wai’s Sally is centre); Susan Pattrick of Dancing Giraffe, who gives her own time and energy to help the disabled and Karen Thompson of Healthier Soles, who has given time and energy to care of the feet of people at Ipswich Winter Night Shelter and at events to raise funds for charity.
Congratulations also to Ally Wilson of Red Rocket Studios; Eleanor Vanner of Eastern Family Services; Gail Franklin, Jo Hunt, Mandie Holgate of BWN and Jean Fletcher all from Essex , who we also won Star Awards from Lift Effects for their selfless giving of time and energy for others. As these ladies could not attend the conference Sally was given the honour of presenting their awards to them.
Sally said: “What a lovely day we had! We saw some fantastic women, heard some incredible stories and were inspired to be the best we can be!
“Thank you Sandra for organising the event and it was great to meet author and speaker Ava Brown(who also won an award. Thank you Lyndee for our nomination.”
